Description:
Exercise starts, continues and ends for people for many different reasons. A popular area of study is on Behavior Change and how utilizing both modern and traditional models can help the exercise provider understand how to encourage exercise in their client, regardless of their stage of readiness. This workshop examines common theories of Behavior Change and looks at hard evidence on using these models of changes in everyday practice.

Objectives:
Attendees will understand general common themes in theories of behavior change, with a focus on the Transtheoretical Model of the Stages of Change, and what implications those theories may have on starting exercise and exercise adherence. They will demonstrate their ability to identify the stage of change and alter coaching methods through the use of Case Studies and discussion.
