Research

The CYBEX Institute for Exercise Science is the research arm of Cybex International. Its primary responsibility is to investigate both future concepts and existing products to ensure designs are optimized to produce the desired results. Working relationships with exercise research oriented universities around the country expand our research capability and, as a manufacturer, we have the unique ability to immediately put that knowledge to work.

Training and Education

The Institute manages internal training and education, helping to make CYBEX representatives the best prepared in the fitness industry. The CYBEX Institute for Exercise Science education outreach, in which we deliver and sponsor education throughout the fitness industry, relates the power of the CYBEX brand to the science of the equipment we produce.

Programming

As an added value to our existing equipment, and to form the basis for new equipment lines, the Institute develops programming. We are able to address the needs of activity-specific niche markets, aging adults, and special populations, as well as develop new training modules for our cardiovascular equipment.

Paul M. Juris, Ed.D. Executive Director Dr. Juris earned his Doctorate in Motor Learning from Columbia University in 1993, followed by a variety of positions in higher education, rehabilitative medicine, professional sports, and fitness.
