Converging/Diverging Path of Motion. VR3 has converging/diverging movement which mimics the way the human body moves and allows for a more complete range of motion. The consistent torque around the joint reduces the stress at the joint often associated with dumbbell exercise.
Dependent Movement The dependent movement of VR3 means that the machine leads the user so that both arms work as though they are tied together. This provides a feeling of security to new and average users. By having both arms working together in a fixed plane, exercise feels better controlled for a comfortable and secure training movement.
Range Limiting Device (A) This CYBEX patented technology adjusts the machine to the user rather than the user to the machine. Regardless of the starting position selected, the cam remains synchronized with each individual user. CYBEX RLDs vary the leverage to maintain the correct level of force throughout the range of motion while taking into account each user's limits and abilities. Start RLDs (adjustable start only) provide start positions every 10 degrees. Total RLDs (adjustable start and finish) provide start and end positions every 10 degrees. VR3 offers Start RLD and Total RLD as optional features.
Fully enclosed weight stacks (B) Fully enclosed weight stacks give a sleek appearance. However, they also shield bystanders and users from inadvertent contact with the moving weight stacks, part of the CYBEX commitment to creating a safe workout environment. CYBEX VR3 is engineered for safety and all strength products comply with ASTM and EN standards.
Adjustment Features (C) Knobs are always positioned toward the user so they are easily visible. Big, bright, and yellow - you don't have to guess where to adjust the weight increment or leave your seat to do it. Seat bottoms are assisted with an external gas spring which also provides for ease of service. Seat backs use a torsion spring assistance.
Twist Select Weight Increment Selection (D) Patent-pending system allows users to adjust weight 5 lbs (2.5 kg) at a time with simple turn of knob - nothing to slide, drop, or lose. The Twist Select System is completely balanced for drag free operation and includes integrated oiling capabilities, resulting in reduced time and mess associated with guide rod maintenance. A large fluted knob is visible to the user and designed for easy grasp. Large numerals indicate incremental resistance
Belt Drive The belt drive system has two primary advantages: (1) exceptional life; and (2) easy replacement. VR3 belt drive has eliminated dedicated length cables so a spare belt can be kept on-site and when the belt does need replacement, there is no down time. The VR3 belt drive also provides a direct, smooth feel and virtually no drag.

Details (E)(F) Big print placards use straightforward language and pictures for easy-to-read instructions. Dry Grip Technology uses non-absorbent gripping material to give extra security to the grip. Ergonomically contoured molded pads provide better support and a more contemporary look. Molded rubber feet protect the floor and keep the machines in place.
