CYBEX is.
If you watch the Biggest Loser, you will notice that the Fitness Ranch has undergone
a dramatic transformation. Gone are the old treadmills, all the ellipticals and
most of the other equipment. They’ve been replaced by more than 60 pieces
of CYBEX’s high-performance strength and cardio equipment.
Here’s a rundown of some of the equipment the contestants are training on
to get fit:
The CYBEX Arc Trainer
Combining elements of a climber, hiker, and skier, the CYBEX Arc Trainer produces
gym-quality results in any environment, helping you get fit more efficiently than
ever before. The 750AT is technically a high-end commercial machine, meaning it
excels in the most demanding environment. However, it's also suitable for fitness-minded
home users as well. Research shows that the CYBEX Arc Trainer burns more calories
than any other cross trainer or elliptical on the market. The machine accomplishes
this through its Reverse Arc motion technology, which engages the muscles—the
quads and glutes—that demand the most energy from the body. That means a higher
intensity and a bigger calorie burn, giving you a complete workout in the shortest
time possible. The CYBEX Arc Trainer is also load-dependent, meaning that it scales
the resistance level to the user's weight. This means that two users—one weighing
250 pounds and the other 125 pounds—receive an equivalent workout when choosing
the same program type.
The CYBEX Bravo
A total training solution offering more options and versatility than any product
in its class, the CYBEX Bravo allows users to work upper and lower body using hundreds
of different isolated or fully-integrated exercises. The Bravo is distinguished
by an advanced, biomechanically-correct design featuring two unique, patent-pending
features:
- Progressive Stabilization Pad, which allows the user to incrementally modify their
stability, introducing specific challenges for different functional tasks.
- Cable Position Adjustment, which lets not only the height to be adjusted, but also
the width between cables. This allows the direction of resistance to be completely
controlled. The versatility—which only CYBEX has—creates almost endless
training possibilities.
Changing the approach to functional training, the Bravo is the world’s only
piece of equipment that delivers both integrated motion and higher loading, for
the optimum result. This means users get the benefits of fully-stabilized equipment
(increased strength of isolated muscle groups) and non-stabilized devices (movement
coordination and core integration).
The CYBEX 750T Treadmill
CYBEX 750T treadmills, which the contestants are training on, set the standard for
treadmills. The 750T incorporates patented technologies that only CYBEX’s
treadmills offer, such as a proprietary suspension system to dampen the shock effect,
and the IS3 Intelligent Suspension System, an intelligent running deck that is soft
in the landing zone, hard in the middle and rigid where the foot pushes off. Details
make this the BMW of treadmills. A built-in fan is standard (and staying cool means
a longer workout). The display is digital for easy instruction and feedback and
the 10-key keypad lets you get started faster. The optional Personal Entertainment
Monitor with made-for-iPod compatibility turns itself off to save energy and prolong
monitor life.
