The science of performance. Serious athletes know our brand.
CYBEX is about the science of exercise performance. Although our products are used by a wide variety of exercise enthusiasts, CYBEX develops products particularly geared to the serious athlete. Professional athletes and high performance sports participants need power. Not just speed...and not just strength... but power. High force at high speed - like the needs of a linebacker on the football field. Or a power forward pulling down a rebound off the boards. Any athletic coach knows that the only way to develop power is to train at high power levels. You can't do it with slow speed strength training or speed training alone. It requires high intensity, short duration interval training to develop peak power.
The
750A Arc Trainer
is one of the most effective tools on the market today to deliver power training. The Advanced Power Training (APT) mode is designed with the athlete in mind. The faster you go, the more resistance you encounter - until you hit the wall. That's your peak level. Waiting until heart rate returns to a normal level...and then doing it all over again...that's how the Arc 750 builds power.
The unique
CYBEX 750 bikes
(upright and recumbent) are also serious power training tools. Delivering training in 3 distinct modes, the Isokinetic mode and the Bike mode are ideal for power training (the Constant Power mode is great for endurance but not the choice to train for power). In the Bike mode, the faster you go, the more resistance you get - i.e. high intensity, short intervals - developing power. The Isokinetic mode allows the user to set a speed and then push with as much force as they want. The bike will completely accommodate and change resistance to match ensuring the speed target is maintained - another great tool for power development.
CYBEX developed the new
Bravo functional trainer
with the needs of the professional sports market in mind as well. Most products in the gym can be categorized as stabilized (such as a seated chest press), or essentially unstable (such as most cable based functional trainers). Fully stabilized equipment has the advantage of increasing the strength of isolated muscle groups, but the disadvantage of not integrating movements or activating core stabilizers. Unstable devices are effective at movement coordination and core integration, but at the expense of real strength gains. The Bravo can do BOTH.
CYBEX has a long tradition of producing results driven commercial strength equipment. In addition to our 3 complete lines of selectorized machines, CYBEX offers the standard plate loaded and free weight systems used by serious athletes the world over. The CYBEX
plate loaded line
and
free weight line
of equipment are built tough to withstand the punishment a champion athletic team can give them.
