Chose from a selection of prototype fitness areas designed for the hotel environment. Equipment selection is based on current user and fitness trends and is laid out to maximize the space. Match your available space with these prototypes to obtain a quick idea on the maximum capacity of your facility. These prototypes provide you with a basic idea on the minimum space requirements. Your eventual blend of equipment will however depend on a number of factors such as operating concept (outside membership vs. hotel guests only), target audience (FITs vs. vacationers), space and budget.

CORRECT PRODUCT MIX:

At CYBEX we recommend a complimentary selection of both cardio and strength equipment that fits the demographics of your users, as well as industry trends. Your guests have come to expect the same well balanced workout they get at their commercial gym, as they do when they travel. In case you anticipate that the average number of daily participants in your fitness center exceeds the appropriated space you have allotted, then keep it simple, and stick to cardio equipment. Guests will accept not having an elaborate offering of selectorized strength equipment. However, they will be less likely to accept having to wait in line to use cardiovascular equipment, especially at peak morning or evening hours.

Superior This sample fitness center could be a hotel room conversion for a small or boutique hotel. This size space would be able to accommodate a 200-325 room four star hotel with approximately 12 guests using the amenity at any one time.
Premium This sample fitness center would be a perfect for a medium sized hotel. This size space would be able to accommodate a 325-500 room hotel with approximately 20 guests using the center at one time.
Deluxe This sample fitness center would be a perfect for a medium to large hotel. This size space would be able to accommodate a 500 room hotel with approximately 22-24 guests using the center at one time.
Presidential This sample fitness center would be a perfect for a large hotel and resort and accommodate an outside membership. This size space would be able to accommodate a 500-plus room hotel with approximately 30 guests or members using the center at one time.
Penthouse This sample fitness center would be ideal for standalone commercial fitness center that caters for hotel guests. This size space would be able to accommodate a 500-plus room hotel with approximately 35 members or guests using the center at one time.
