Arc Trainers
What maintenance procedures are recommended for my Arc?
Users should wipe down the machine after each workout with a moist towel to remove any residual sweat as it is corrosive to the metal surfaces and may cause rusting over time.
Your routine maintenance will include cleaning and inspecting.
Vacuum around the Arc.
Wipe down and clean the exterior of the Arc with a mild soap or bleach solution. You can mix water with a small amount of liquid soap or use a 10% bleach solution for disinfecting purposes.
When cleaning the display or any electronics area, apply cleaning solution to a cloth first then wipe the display. Spraying any cleaning solvent on the display can damage the electronics.
Occasionally my Arc displays a heart rate even with no one on it.
Your "ghost heart rate" could indicate a problem with your Arc heart rate sensors or they could just need a good cleaning to remove a salt bridge due to build up of perspiration residue.
The assembly can be cleaned with a cloth dampened with alcohol, if necessary the sensor can be disassembled and cleaned but for that you should call your dealer, authorized CYBEX service provider or CYBEX Service for further assistance.
